I’ve been a multi-million dollar producer every year since earning my New Mexico Real Estate License in
2005. In 2014 I was honored as “REALTOR of the Year” for Ruidoso/Lincoln County Association of REALTORS.
I have served on the Board of Directors of RLCAR, served as Secretary and chaired many committees.
Clients choose to work with me for the full service I provide and my local experience, knowledge and
expertise. I’m fortunate to have loyal repeat customers to support my success in a very competitive
sales environment.
I was born in Austin, Texas and raised in the rural community of Dripping Springs, Texas and attended
college at Southwest Texas State University (Texas State) in San Marcos, Texas.
In 1987 I married Johnny Cox, a rancher and Hall of Fame race horse jockey. I was working in civil
engineering when in 1991; I began helping my husband full time with the cattle operation while pursuing
my own interest in barrel racing.
We moved to Ruidoso in 2001 to enjoy the good climate, good friends and continue our ranching and horse
interests.
I look forward to the possibilities of working with you. Although my background is conducive to selling
ranches, which I do, I’m very knowledgeable representing buyers and sellers’ interests in luxury homes,
cabins, condos, and acreages.
I’m ready to go to work for you!

My name is Dixie Jo Brown and I received my Real Estate License in Texas in 1980 and New Mexico in 1998.
I have lived in Ruidoso since June of 1982. I moved here from Galena Park, TX. A suburb of Houston.
I was in LVN (nurse) in Texas for a few years in the mid to late '70's. I also own and manage two small
mobile home parks in Ruidoso. I owned two small motels here in the early 80's and after 16 years of
managing them, we sold them.
I am very involved with our church, Shepherd of the Hills, Lutheran Church. I have been married to my
husband John for 45 years. We enjoy travel, hiking, antiquing and spending time with our daughter, son
in law and granddaughter who all live in Albuquerque, NM. Our granddaughter is 7 and has stolen our
hearts.
I enjoy showing properties and helping others realize their dream of owing a piece of New Mexico
"paradise". I believe real estate is a good investment if you choose the right piece of property. I like
to think I can help with that decision.
I believe in honesty, sincerity and helpfulness. I am not a pushy person.
For a buyer, I believe real estate sells itself in this beautiful area, but I am there to show property
that is of interest to a buyer. answer questions, point out positive and negative aspects of a property,
and help in any way I am able. Then comes the paperwork. I take care of that too!
For a seller, I make sure the property is advertised and marketed using all the tools we have available
in our office. If the property is unoccupied, I frequently go inspect the property to make sure all is
well. I contact the seller often with updates on the market as a whole as well as showings and any
activity on their listing. I try to answer any questions the seller may have and if I don't know the
answer, I'll try to find it. And then comes the paperwork. I take care of that too!
Lincoln County NM is a beautiful area in which to live and work. The climate is almost perfect year
round. We have four seasons, none of which are severe. The surrounding mountains are beautiful and offer
hiking, skiing and amazing sights. The wildlife is entertaining-deer and elk are everywhere and are the
cause of most of our traffic jams in town! Otherwise we have little or no traffic to deal with and
plenty of visitors in summer and winter with various activities all year round.

I was born in Lincoln County and have remained in this beautiful paradise my entire life. I grew up
with a ranching and equestrian background, I was involved in 4-H and showing horses. I married the
man of my dreams in 2013, we are both local kids whose families homesteaded in Lincoln County and
have no desire to ever leave our “home”. I graduated from NMSU in 2004 and 2012 with degrees in
Animal Science and Nursing I enjoy serving and exploring my community, meeting new people, and
sharing my knowledge about the uniqueness of this special place with others. I received my real
estate license in 2021 amid of the pandemic, to further serve my community by helping people who
seek a slower pace away from the stress of big city life.

I was raised in a racehorse, rodeo and ranching family. My dad, a Ruidoso Hall of Fame Jockey, also
raised Registered Red Brangus cattle outside of Austin, Texas. I was raised in both Lincoln County
and Central Texas. I love and sell real estate in both areas.
I am so honored to represent Zia Real Estate. I have a lot of real estate experience and I love my
job; but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any broker in this office! I’d match this bunch against
anyone! We work hard and get things done.
